The “Bimbo Box”
This jukebox was made in West Germany by Uta Elektroakustik in 1958.
It was built to mimic the famed “Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass”.
It plays a recording of “Tijuana Taxi” while all the monkeys play
along with their instruments. The monkeys are very detailed figures
that are actually custom built into their mountings which connect to a
complex system of armatures and cams to create their entertaining movements.
A phenomenal amount of engineering went into this rare animated wonder.
